Guide to football spread betting

You can bet on match and season markets in the Premiership, Champions League, the Championship and League One and League Two as well as La Liga and Serie A. You can also bet on a huge range of markets in domestic and international tournaments such as the FA Cup, World Cup and regional Championships such as the African Nations Cup.

Season Markets

Cantor Spreadfair offers spread bets on long-term and season markets, allowing you to have an interest in the whole, or just part of, the season.

Premiership Points

This market is about how many points a Premiership team will score in a season. You can open or close this bet at any time during the season.

Example

Newcastle’s Premiership Points are quoted at 56.4-57. You think that they will perform better than this, so you BUY at 57. Your prediction turns out to be correct and Newcastle finish the season with 60 points.

You therefore make 3 points. If you bought at £50 per point, your profit would be £150 (3x £50).

However, if your prediction was incorrect and Newcastle only scored 55 points, you would lose £100 ((55-57) x£50)

Spread bets are high risk products; you need deposit only a small percentage of the value of the bet. However, your losses may substantially exceed that deposit very rapidly and thus require you to make additional deposits at short notice to maintain your bets. Spread bets are not suitable for all customers. Before betting, you should ensure you fully understand the risks and seek independent financial advice if necessary.
